The Natural History Museum is alive! You can travel through eras with the stories and knowledge of our experimental archaeologist Mauro Fiorentini and create a prehistoric vase with your own hands.

  • Create your own prehistoric clay vase from scratch: you'll bring it back home after the workshop

Visit the exhibition rooms of the Natural History Museum of the territory of the Park of Gola della Rossa and Frasassi and get help from the experimental archaeologist Dr. Mauro Fiorentini in the creation of your prehistoric vase. You will also take a look and have the chance to grab many replica of stone age tools: flint and obsidian knives, bronze daggers, stone axes, and many more!

Be ready to get your hands dirty! You will use real clay to shape a small vase, using prehistoric techniques widely used in the area.You will then decorate your vase as you prefer, using sticks, small strings and even your fingers, always reconstructing typical elements.

At the end of the workshop, you'll take your vase back home with instructions on how to try to cook it on your own.
