Monte Valmontagna is the mountain where the Frasassi Caves are located. It offers some of the most beautiful landscapes in the region. On its summit you can find meadows where many eagles and other birds of prey of the Park fly, while at its foothills there are Gola della Rossa and Frasassi.

Monte Valmontagna is one of the mountains situated in the area of Gola della Rossa and Frasassi, in fact it lies right on the intersection of the two gorges. Inside, you can find the famous Frasassi Caves. This path, perfect for people who are used to hiking, is a ring itinerary of great natural interest due to the coexistence of two different environments: woods of hornbeam, oak trees and flowering ash, typical of the Apennines, and the secondary meadow on the summit of the mountain. These areas are home to eagles and other birds of prey that fly in the sky of the Gola della Rossa and Frasassi Park.
